On the afternoon of September 16, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) in collaboration with Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee, Dong Giao Foodstuff Export Joint Stock Company (Mang Yang District, Gia Lai Province) held a ceremony to announce the export of first passion fruit shipment to Europe under the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the European Union (EVFTA).
This is the first shipment of passion fruit exported from Vietnam to EU market after EVFTA takes effect on August 1, 2020. This first batch of export, Dong Giao Export Food Joint Stock Company shipped 100 tons of passion fruit to the Netherlands.

Over the past five years, Vietnam’s passion fruit export volume and turnover has increased by more than 300%, bringing Vietnam into the top 10 largest passion fruit exporting countries in the world, after Brazil, Peru, and Ecuador. Currently, Vietnamese passion fruit has been exported to markets with strict quality, quarantine and food safety requirements such as France, Germany, Netherlands, Korea, Taiwan (China), and Switzerland. Currently, Dong Giao company’s products are present in more than 60 countries, conquering demanding markets such as the US, Japan, China and especially Europe. Products from passion fruit are being produced mainly at Doveco Gia Lai factory such as: concentrated passion fruit juice, NFC passion fruit juice and frozen passion fruit intestine, currently the key products, accounting for more than 50% of the total. export value of the Company.
